What set Canyon Construction apart from others?
Question: Why did you decide to get solar for your home, and what set Canyon Construction apart from others?
Answer: I’ve had solar before in my last house, because I love the idea of solar, as it just helped the house, help the environment. This is a smart idea, I think with rising utility costs. What was unique with Canyon Construction is that, my last system I purchased was kind of a subcontractor that came and sold us the system and then another subcontractor that came out installed it. Canyon Construction is unique in that they sold us the solar system and they installed it themselves.
So the fact of one supplier kind of knowing what they’re talking about when they’re selling you and knowing what they’re doing when they’re up on your roof. And being able to patch up or, you know, manage any little hiccup that might come along with the knowledge of construction and being a general contractor in that sense, I think it’s the biggest thing that would set them apart from any other company.
Question: Was there anything that was done different than your last house?
Answer: So in our area, we get high winds, and this is during the time that Edison was deciding to turn off our power voluntarily or proactively, I should say. So, and it would be two days, two and a half day stretch of time, sometimes three, which would cause a lot of trouble in our refrigerator. We’re living without lights, and on candlelight and camping lights. So we bought a generator to power a couple of small lights but we wanted to generator to power up the house in the event that they were shutting down our power again or any other time that we might lose power unexpectedly.
Canyon Construction bought a GENERAC sub panel for us, which powers the house. And in the event that we do lose power, we can hook up our generator to that sub panel and then it powers the whole house including the air conditioning and pretty much every appliance that we can run in the house at one time. So that was a little bit of extra work that they did before for us in addition to the solar panels.
Thank you Canyon Construction for a wonderful job in installing our solar and our backup system. We appreciate you greatly!

Why did you choose a generator over batteries?
Question: Why did you choose a generator over batteries?
Answer: So, batteries are an option that Canyon Construction did offer to us but the price point on that was pretty much out of my reins or I mean we can make it happen but for where we’re at and myself being able to manage a generator and to have the process of hook up the generator to the feed, Ralph recommended that they play a more feasible option for us in our situation. But, they do have the option to do a battery backup to the house as well.
Question: How did your first solar installation differ from Canyon Construction Installation?
Answer: The other guys that installed weren’t the ones that necessarily sold us, so all they knew was what was coming in, and what they had to do. And then additionally when the people were selling it to me, they weren’t able to give us a lot of information as far as what would be best for our house, like in a backup system of power or something like that.
Also we did get other quotes you know, being a newer community here, you do get a lot of door to door people and people that would knock and say hey, we do this in solar and they’re not able to have that knowledge that Canyon Construction has.
Question: Would you recommend Canyon Construction to others?
Answer: So I definitely would recommend Canyon Construction Services to a friend, and I actually have. I recommended several friends already, we all pass along good information.
Question: Were you there when they did the job, and how did they work?
Answer: Yeah, I was here for part of the time. They showed up early, always very courteous, always asked if there was anything I needed or if there was anything they needed, they were very respectful in asking. Yeah, worked very diligently and I think the second day they worked until the job was done, which was, turned out to be about 12 hour in a day.
Question: Is there anything you would like to add?
Answer: Thank you Canyon Construction for a wonderful job in installing our solar and our backup system. We appreciate you greatly!
SolarCCS® Success Story - Francisco’s Meat Company
Why did you decide to get solar for your company?
Question: Why did you decide to get solar for your company?
Answer [Francisco]: Because I see that prices in the field change so much, up and down. I know the electricity is one day going to be higher, we’ll need to pay higher price in the future. So I see the chance to buy now, where I can produce right now is going to be the same in the future, so it’s going to be a big help for my business.
Question: How did you find Canyon Construction?
