Solar Service Technician
A large number of Inland Empire homeowners have solar installed by companies that no longer exist. Their panels are still under a 25-year warranty and they have nobody to call. You are who they call. You will run a service route diagnosing inverter faults, monitoring dropouts, production loss, and string issues across every major platform — Enphase, SolarEdge, Sol-Ark, and older legacy equipment. This is diagnostic work, not repetitive install work, and no two days look the same.
What you will do
- Diagnose production loss, inverter faults, and monitoring dropouts in the field
- Perform string testing, IV curve tracing, and module-level troubleshooting
- Replace failed inverters, optimizers, modules, and monitoring hardware
- Take over orphaned systems: document as-built condition and bring monitoring back online
- Explain the problem and the fix to the homeowner in plain language
- Close every ticket with photos, findings, and parts used
What we need from you
- 2+ years solar install or electrical service experience
- Able to troubleshoot independently without a crew backing you up
- Comfortable on residential roofs with fall protection
- Clean driving record — you will have a company service truck
- Customer-facing composure: you meet people on a bad day
